Notes & Reviews:

This is a thoughtful and attractive version of the Requiem, Süssmayr version. Nigel Short paces it well. I particularly liked the steady opening and the broad, firmly built first section, notable, too, for its clear textures (the timpani have a nicely 'thwacky', 18th-century sound); and this is well balanced with the lively Kyrie, with its strongly rhythmic singing... --Stanley Sadie, Gramophone Recorded live at St John's, Smith Square, London, in April, 2003
