Album Summary
Performer
Elisha Abas (Piano)
Notes & Reviews:
Israeli pianist Elisha Abas is the last protégé of the legendary Artur Rubinstein, a pupil of legendary pedagogue Pnina Salzmann, and the great-grandson of Alexander Scriabin.
Abas and conductor Yoel Gamzou, leading the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba in their first recording on an American label in over half a century, bring an extrovert, no-holds-barred, dramatic approach to Brahms's demanding Piano Concerto No. 1, written during the turbulence surrounding the attempted suicide of Brahms' mentor Schumann.
Notes & Reviews:Recording information: 12/09/2009.
