Notes & Reviews:

Russian composer Korndorf (1947 - 2001) was a larger-than-life character and wrote music that was similarly expansive and urgent. His 3 works for solo cello illustrate his unwillingness to be governed by convention.

American Record Guide, March / April 2013
The scoring is colorful. Ivashkin is an ideal cellist for this music, since he plays with such personal intensity that he brings the music to life. The orchestra plays with polish and determination. This is rather a fascinating disc, played with style.
