The performance of Gurrelieder comes from a performance at the Edinburgh International Festival, August 20, 1961, while Verklärte Nacht, with Leopold Stokowski and his Symphony Orchestra was recorded in 1952. Stokowski was the only conductor to have performed all of Schoenberg's orchestral music during the composer's lifetime.
