2012's Swinging Doors: Hits Collection does indeed have two discs of hits but they're not the original versions -- they're all re-recordings done at an indeterminate time but sounding relatively concurrent with the album's release. Haggard's voice is a little ragged but the band is sharp, so as re-recordings go, this isn't bad; no reinventions, just sturdy run-throughs of tunes the Strangers know by heart. It's fun, particularly if it's not seen as a collection of original recordings. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
