Notes & Reviews:

Louis Cahuzac (1880-1960) was one of the most famous clarinet players in the first half of the 20th century and left some lovely pieces for clarinet and piano. Here Guy Dangain and Misaki Baba perform some of his favorite pieces from the repertoire of virtuoso clarinet.

American Record Guide, January/February 2013
Dangain boasts a clear tone, superb fingers, and an expressive personality; in his hands these selections come across as more than just student recital fare or trivial showpieces. His soft reed, though, sometimes leads to a loss of sonic control, particularly in the high register, and it detracts from the overall product. Baba is a solid keyboardist who must play the role of accompanist as opposed to equal collaborator, but she knows the scores well and she brings the right amount of taste and style to each one.
