Notes & Reviews:

Named for the Greek muse of astronomy, OURANIA examines the heavens, offering several perspectives on how we have come to understand the sun, moon, and stars. Included in this recording are works by Richard Strauss, Bo Holten, And Heinrich Poos on the nature of the physical and spiritual heavens. Works by The Esoterics' founder Eric Banks and composer-in-residence Donald Skirvin round out the program with a focus on scientific and musical overlap in exploring this theme.

American Record Guide, January/February 2013
The album's most substantial work is Hypostasis vel Somnium Jacob, a seven-section cantata that recounts the story of Jacob's ladder in complex, yet impressive music. It comes to a glorious close with a New Testament verse that ties the vision to Christian prophecy.
