Performers Composer

Notes & Reviews:

Giuseppe Tartini, born in what today is Slovenia, ranks among the most famous of late-Baroque composers. Contemporary accounts suggest that Tartini didn't so much play his violin as make his instrument sing. Featuring accomplished performances from Giovanni Guglielmo, Antonio Pocaterra, Alberto Martini and Ilario Gregoletto, this release is a must-buy for both the Baroque and violin enthusiast.

American Record Guide, March / April 2013
Giovanni Guglielmo is a very polished player, so I much enjoy listening to him. Guglielmo plays with cellist Pocaterro, and I find the effect much more satisfactory. Sometimes the violin plays a progression of harmonies. Sometimes Guglielmo plays solo, and the effect when Pocaterra rejoins him is of a sudden broadening of instrumental color. Guglielmo and Pocaterra are fine musicians.
