Notes & Reviews:

Music for King Henry VIII of England; Renaissance brass band, featuring Tenor Charles Daniels

American Record Guide, January/February 2013
Mr Daniels sings these beautifully, and the accompaniment of the small renaissance ensemble is also charming and fitting. The songs are printed in their original languages and translated only into German. Most are in English, though some are in Latin and one is in French. Because music played such an important role in Henry's life, it is fitting that this king - so infamous, yet so fascinating even today, perhaps precisely because he was so "modern" - should be memorialized in this way.

Notes & Reviews:
