Notes & Reviews:

Triple Forte, Canada's elite piano trio presents its first CD recording. With near-limitless ability, violinist Jasper Wood, cellist Yegor Dyachkov and pianist David Jalbert will delight listeners with their performances of music by Maurice Ravel, Charles Ives, and Dmitri Shostakovich. Jasper Wood has been awarded both the coveted Sylva Gelber Prize (1996) and the prestigious Virginia Parker Award (2004) from the Canada Council for the Arts. Named Canadian "Artist of the Year" by the CBC in 2000, Yegor Dyachkov "is undoubtedly a cellist of great stature ... he has it all." (La Presse, Montreal). A national and international prize-winner, David Jalbert has won two Opus Awards, and was the 2007 laureate of the prestigious Virginia Parker Prize of the Canada Council for the Arts.

American Record Guide, January/February 2013
The immensely challenging Ives trio offers a full bag of fun. The music, as in much of Ives's work, moves from the sublime to the ridiculous, back again, and with its sometimes audacious polytonality, often occupies both realms at once. Subtitled Yalensia & Americana, it is a dense mosaic of Yale fraternity songs, hymn tunes, and popular parlor and bandstand favorites. II, titled TSIAJ ("This scherzo is a joke"), contains about 20 such musical quotations. I have only managed to identify 14 so far. If one can master the difficulties of this music, it can be as enjoyable to play as to hear. Triple Forte manages to sound like they are utterly enjoying themselves while at the same time playing with a clean transparency that may some day allow me to raise my tune identification score to 20.
