Tributee: Green Day.
While it's still kind of perplexing that the same pop punks who brought us the '90s definitive odes to self-love and methamphetamines would became one of the biggest bands in rock & roll, the sign that they've well and truly made it comes by way of Piano Tribute to Green Day. Stripping away the snotty punk melodies of the originals in exchange for a more restrained and composed delivery, the album cleans Green Day up for an evening at a black tie event. While these non-essential but fun songs might be a far cry from the originals, they make up for their lack of energy with a certain sense of dignified class. ~ Gregory Heaney
