Notes & Reviews:

The combination of flute and guitar enjoys a long tradition, going back to the earliest known Western music. The two blend happily, with flowing flute cantilenas embedded in rich guitar sonorities. Austrian Ferdinand Rebay, whose recently-discovered works are here presented for the first time, breathed new life into the genre with these lively neoclassical works.

This is such a rare combination of instruments that it may strike some ears as slightly alien-sounding, but Rebay's A minor Quartet is a beautiful work whose colours and textures linger in the memory...NoquT and flautist Alicia Fernßndez-Cueva, along with the three Spanish string players, perform these Mediterranean-steeped works with classical elegance.
