Album Summary
Performer
Alexis Weissenberg (Piano)
Notes & Reviews:
Weissenberg made his breakthrough in Salzburg during the Karajan era with his 1972 solo recital. His evening began with Tombeau de Couperin, played transparently and with a highly flexible touch. Pictures at an Exhibition ended the "official" part of his recital, though many surprising encores followed - all of which can be heard on these two CDs.
Notes & Reviews:Recording information: Mozarteum, Salzburg (08/07/1972).
