Notes & Reviews:
American Record Guide, March / April 2013
The two most interesting works here are the sonatas by Ourkouzounov and Dyens - and they get the most involved performances by the duo. The Ourkouzounov is an homage to Theodosii Spassov, who plays the kaval, a traditional Bulgarian flute. The sound is quite smooth, a perfect classical tone. There are percussive effects on the guitar, the expected Balkan irregular meters and synthetic scales. Dyens's Travelling Sonata fared best of all. If you're interested in the two sonatas, check this out.
