The ensemble is small - 10 woodwinds, a brass trio, plus percussion, piano, string bass, and harp - and the playing is superb. Intonation is flawless, and everyone seems quite comfortable and assured. I spent much time with this wonderful recording, and I envy these fine young musicians for what must have been a great experience. Praise to conductor McMurray, and to the engineers for such warm, lifelike sound.
