This release from Grand Piano consists of folk-inspired works for piano duet and duo, performed here by German pianists Caroline Weichert and Clemens Rave, including Handel on the Strand, Molly on the Shore, Country Gardens, Song from the Faroe Islands, Harvest Hymn, As Sally Sat a Weeping, Lincolnshire Posy and Fantasy on Porgy and Bess.

It is creative, well-crafted, and eminently listenable on many levels. This is an extremely well-chosen and well played program. Their ensemble, especially in this folk-based music with its flexible tempos, is impeccable. The music is so well known and so great that any honest, competent arrangement of the tunes will be effective. Close your eyes and you would assume that these performers are Native Americans with a lifetime of acquaintance with this musical style. Excellent recorded sound and an informative booklet complete a most enjoyable release.
