Notes & Reviews:

Exclusive Collection of Christmas Carols Many renowned German-speaking singers - amongst others, Jonas Kaufmann, Angelika Kirchschlager and Christoph Prégardien - and ensembles have recorded their Christmas carol exclusively for the song project. The recordings are presented in two lavishly equipped CD boxes with elaborate illustrated booklets.

American Record Guide, November/December 2013
The Lieder Project, founded by the singer Cornelius Hauptmann, has issued recordings devoted to German lullabies, folk songs, children's songs, and now Christmas carols. Handsomely packaged in two volumes, the Weihnachts Lieder comprises 58 musical selections - all dealing with Christmas, some totally unfamiliar music and some as well-known as 'Silent Night'. The performers are as varied as the selections. Many numbers are vocal solos, but the set also includes duets, instrumental ensembles, choirs, and small vocal ensembles - most based in Europe. The music is uniformly lovely and beautifully performed.
