Notes & Reviews:

A composer as well as an incredibly talented pianist, Franz Liszt used his unique musical mind to break the formal molds of the symphony and developed the idea of the symphonic poem. In striving to express the complexity of emotions in this music, he made unprecedented technical and tonal demands on the musicians, which the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony and conductor Jun Märkl achieve brilliantly.
