This impressively long work has never been recorded in its complete version on an instrument of Satie's lifetime. It is in many ways a revolutionary piece, where Satie explores harmonic constellations that other composers would almost 30 years later. On this release, the music is played by pianist Alexi Lubimov, one of the most strikingly original musicians performing today.
