Notes & Reviews:

Beethoven's Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Piano in C major, Op. 56, more commonly known as the Triple Concerto, was composed in 1803, and is the only concerto Beethoven ever wrote for more than one solo instrument. In this fiery performance the Claremont Trio is joined by the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, led by the orchestra's British-born Music Director, Martin West. The E-flat major Trio is the first in a set of three Trios, first performed in 1793, in the house of their dedicatee, Prince Lichnowsky. Again featured, is the brilliant Claremont Trio.

American Record Guide, May/June 2013
After an affable reading of the Triple Concerto starring Mari Kodama (Mar/Apr 2013) comes this performance in a similar vein, headlined by the very photogenic Claremont Trio. The trio makes a better impression: fluent and musical, with a sprightly IV. Sound is a little better too with a nice sense of "air" around the instruments.
