Notes & Reviews:

An audiophile recording of some of Debussy's favorite piano pieces plus rare and unusual works by admirers of his musical idiom. Grante is one of today's most active and popular recording pianists and his concert repertoire is one of the largest among contemporary pianists.

International Record Review
Overall, this is a very unusual and worthwhile release.

American Record Guide, May/June 2013
Estampes was the first set (1903) of piano pieces by Debussy to fully use descriptive titles. It also shows Debussy's mastery of different musical languages, most would agree that the set practically defines Impressionism in music. 'Pagodes' uses pentatonic scales and pedal points including a Gamelan orchestra. A full range of pianistic techniques is required to project the set, which is one of my favorites.
