The chamber music of Joseph Marx, a composer most well known for his late romantic Lieder, has undergone a renaissance in the last few years.

Erich Wolfgang Korngold's music has achieved nearly cult status among die-hard fans of both film and classical music.

Two rarely-performed, grand-scale 20th century romantic chamber works by these two masters are given virtuosic, expressive readings by the New York Piano Quartet (violinist Elmira Darvarova, violinist/ violist Ronald Carbone, cellist Samuel Magill, and pianist Linda Hall), who gave what is believed to be the US premiere of the Marx during the 2011 New York Chamber Music Festival.
