Notes & Reviews:

A new recording from Die Singphoniker for the cpo listening audience - hymns by di Lasso! This glob-trotting renowned German vocal ensemble was founded 3 decades ago by 6 singers who were students at the Munich College of Music. The rapid spread of hymns throughout Christendom is owed to St. Benedict who incorporated them into monastery life.

American Record Guide, May/June 2013
This is an excellent selection of rarely recorded repertoire, polyphonic hymns by Orlandus Lassus. In their earlier recordings of chant and songs by Lassus the five singers of Die Singphoniker demonstrated their affinity for this repertoire. Here, with a "guest" tenor, they have added some of Lassus's richest six-part settings of these texts. This recording would be a significant addition to any collection of renaissance music.

MusicWeb International, 23rd April 2013
Enunciation is excellent, melodic line trenchant, textures are striking...Singphoniker brings grace and stature to their performances...The stylish and individually colourful performances here make this a broadly welcome addition to the all too small corpus of well-recorded Lassus.
