Notes & Reviews:

Acclaimed for his strong communicative skills, exceptional use of the organ's capabilities, and bold programming, Jonathan Ryan has received six first prize awards at international and national organ playing competitions. He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Eastman School. He is organist/choirmaster at St. Mary's Church in Nutley, New Jersey.

American Record Guide, May/June 2013
Ryan concludes his program with two exuberant works by French composers of the 20th Century. The 'Fantaisie sur le Te Deum et Guirlandes Alleluiatiques' by Charles Tournemire (1870-1939) is the final movement from his monumental series of liturgical suites L'Orgue Mystique (1927-32). 'Placare Christe Servulis' by Marcel Dupré (1886-1971) is based on an office hymn for All Saints, and is the final movement of his Tombeau de Titelouze (1943). The Shreveport organ has all the bold and passionate tone color that these exciting works demand. Jonathan Ryan studied at Baylor University, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the Eastman School. He currently serves as organist and choirmaster at St Mary's Church in Nutley, New Jersey and is a visiting artist at St James's Cathedral in Chicago. His playing here is technically fluent and animated, displaying an ability to interpret a wide variety of musical styles convincingly.
