American Record Guide, May/June 2013
Suite en Duo was first written for flute and harp, and I'd like to hear it that way as well. It's a clever, cheerful set - playful, and classically concise. The piano is an equal partner to the violin. Four Pieces, written over four years for his son Jean-Pierre's birthday, starts with a simple 'Air Varie', constructed to make an amateur violinist sound good. They are both excellent musicians and strong chamber music partners. The sound is pretty good, and the notes (English, French, and German) are informative. This album was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque when it first came out.
