Notes & Reviews:

This disc includes compositions by Niccolo Porpora and Johann Gottlieb Goldberg, two composers rarely known to the general public. Porpora's Cantatas inspired later generations of composers. Johann Gottlieb Goldberg went down in history mostly thanks to Johann Sebastian Bach's well-known "Goldberg Variations".

American Record Guide, July/August 2013
The 19-minute harpsichord sonata by Johann Gottlieb Goldberg, a brief student of JS Bach and supposed dedicatee of a set of variations by his teacher, presumably added for sonic contrast to this release, is a very interesting work in four movements, the second of which is an extensive set of variations on a minuet. In contrast to the rest of the recording, it is performed with great skill by Dorota Cybulska-Amsler, who does supply very stylish continuo accompaniments to the cantatas.
