American Record Guide, September/October 2013
Canadian Watson is a man of many talents. He is a legal scholar holding an LLB from the University of Alberta and has studied filmmaking at New York University. He holds a Bachelor of Music with distinction in piano performance from the University of Calgary and a Master of Music in performance and composition from the University of Western Ontario. The sound of each instrument is appropriate, especially the clavichord and piano together in Bach. Neither instrument is of the plush, deeply resonant kind, but both composers are well served by the instruments. If poetry and imagination are sometimes wanting, Watson always holds one's interest and earns our respect for his communicative ability. It is an: interesting take from an active mind and nimble fingers. Good sound.
