Notes & Reviews:

Christian Thielemann leads a performance of masterful pacing and burning conviction that features detailed interpretations from many of today's most experienced interpreters of their complex and glorious roles.

American Record Guide, September/October 2013
Best of all - by far - is the wonderful Bayreuth orchestra under Thielemann. Some of the great orchestral moments are here - the Rhine Journey, the Funeral Music, the Magic Fire. Familiar as they are, one hears a real attention to the inner voices of the orchestra. Indeed, Thielemann achieves an almost chamber- music clarity from this huge ensemble. The booklet includes texts and an interesting analysis of the work by Mark Berry.
