Notes & Reviews:
Sarah Nemtanu is a renowned solo violinist, and in 2010 she was the "real" violinist playing Tchaikovsky's violin concerto in the film Le Concert. On this release she plays the same concerto on the exact same stage at Theatre du Chatelet, but with the Orchestre National de France. Some proceeds support Amnesty International.

These are all arie aggiunte...and tell us as much about the singers of Handel's era as they do about the characters they played. For Hallenberg, there is an extra challenge as she adapts her sound to repertoire tailored to distinct and varied types of voice.
International Record Review, June 2013
No lovers of Handel or great Baroque singing should deny themselves the pleasure of this beautiful music sung by a great Handelian at the peak of her powers.
American Record Guide, September/October 2013
The performance of the sextet is more striking than the concerto. Maybe the Souvenir of Florence is just one of those pieces that's so well written that it can't be anything but a smashing success in the hands of capable players. This is another superb performance of the original sextet version - exuberant in I, soulful and lyrical in II, a little mysterious in III, and a snappy, Russian sounding ride to the finish line in IV. The playing is crisp and energetic all the way, with a superb unanimity and energy. The performance of the concerto is much more earthbound. It is very well played, with fine solo work from Ms Nemtanu and competent accompaniment by Masur and his players. It has sensible, reasonable pacing.
