Notes & Reviews:

In addition to his madrigals, Morley wrote instrumental music, including keyboard music and music for the broken consort, a uniquely English ensemble of two viols, flute, lute, cittern and bandora. In this all Danish cast with the Ensemble Amarillis, we hear a beautiful cast in seldom heard music from the time of William Byrd.

American Record Guide, September/October 2013
This is a charmingly sung and beautifully harmonic program. If you're looking for a good introduction to Morley's work, this might be it. The selection here tends more toward the pensive and solemn. One of the more lively pieces on this program is also one of the more familiar, 'Now is the Month of Maying'. Excellent singing and sound and decent notes. English texts only.
