Notes & Reviews:

American Record Guide, January/February 2014
Violinist Steven Staryk (b. 1932) is regarded as one of the finest Canadian musicians of his generation. His list of accomplishments is extraordinary. In addition to being a revered soloist, he was the concertmaster of the Royal Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw, the Chicago Symphony, the Toronto Symphony, the CBC Symphony, and the Boyd Neel Orchestra. Staryk's gifts are apparent from the very beginning of the program, as he plays the difficult opening chords of Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata without a hitch. The Bartok is just as engaging. Perry's playing is ferocious.
