Notes & Reviews:

EMI Classics is proud to release a new 3-CD box-set dedicated to an ironic artist: Arthur Rubinstein. Legendary Rubinstein! is a complete compilation o Nocturnes and Mazurkas by Chopin in a multipack. Rubinstein's beautiful recordings o the Chopin Nocturnes and Mazurkas show a unique balance between the spontaneity and mature consideration that went into these readings. Rubinstein's deep musical insight is always apparent, reflected in the rich tone, fiery energy and musical poetry he brings to the Mazurkas.

Born in Lodz, Poland in 1887, Arthur Rubinstein was recognized as one of the greatest Chopin interpreters of his time and one of the greatest pianist of the 20th century. He gave his first concert performance at the age of 7 and made his official debut in Berlin in Saint-Saens Piano concerto No.2 in 1990. His raw talent led him to tour internationally all across Europe, the United States, and South America.

In 1932, however, Rubinstein found that it was time to reinvent his technique. After he showed this to the world, it became clear to everyone that Rubinstein's gift of interpretation and performance were finally being fully brought into the light.
