Notes & Reviews:
The recording features the Suske Quartett, a German quartet whose popularity was at its height in the 1970s, and for whom recording Beethoven was a staple of their musical life: the group's original line-up both began and ended with Beethoven pieces. Recorded in the 70's, and having lost none of its grandeur and patina, the recording is of excellent quality.
American Record Guide, November/December 2013
They are well balanced in sound and work together well. Recorded from 1967 to 1980, they belong to the no-nonsense period of Beethoven recordings. Suske is satisfying.
