Notes & Reviews:

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Richard Wagner's birth, Great Wagner Voices brings together ten extremely diverse Wagnerian soloists in a collection of great Wagner arias. The recordings from the years 1963 to 1971 were drawn from the archives of Bavarian Broadcasting.

American Record Guide, September/October 2013
I was greatly impressed by the Wotan of Theo Adam in New York and Chicago in the 1970s. Here he sings Wotan's great farewell to Brnnnhilde with great beauty. Finally, Franz Crass, another beautiful baritone voice, sings two monologs of Hans Sachs. He shades his voice effectively to product some lovely light singing, all the while projecting the great humanity of Sachs, perhaps Wagner's noblest character. This collection is accompanied by a booklet with an interesting essay about the singers.
