Notes & Reviews:

Recording the Prokofiev Sonatas is an important landmark for Peter Donohoe, who first came to international recognition in Moscow in 1982, when he won second prize at the 7th Tchaikovsky International Competition. He was asked by the publishers Boosey & Hawkes to prepare the definitive edition of the scores for them in 1985, and he also recorded Sonatas 6, 7 & 8 for EMI in 1990.

The Sunday Herald
Surely the master interpreter of this little-known repertoire ... This is Prokofiev as you have not heard him. A major re-evaluation from a towering pianist is under way.

Sunday Times
Peter Donohoe ensures that the slicing, acidulous felicity of Prokofiev's writing is purely invigorating.
