Notes & Reviews:

A collection of recordings by guitarist Francisco Tarrega, his disciples, and their students.

One of the most important historical classical guitar releases ever! Francisco Tarrega was the father of the modern guitar, his influence immeasurable. In addition to the master playing his own music, this CD includes recordings by his disciples, most never reissued since the 1920s and '30s. The CD also highlights what may be the first solo guitar recording ever made, as early as 1897: a wax recording by Simon Ramirez of the famous Romance d'Amour.
