Notes & Reviews:

"Cascading in Reverie" presents a series works showcasing Ramette's penchant for writing harmonically and rhythmically driven music. Pianist Eric Himy - whose playing has been lauded for its "extraordinary richness" (BBC Music Magazine) and "infallible power and intensity" (Washington Post) - interprets Ramette's works with creativity and finely honed technique.

American Record Guide, September/October 2013
Yves Ramette makes clear that his motivation for writing music comes from a desire to express and communicate, to connect with his audience's deepest emotions. He calls his Symphony 3 a "message of the heart" and music the "language of the soul".

American Record Guide, March/April 2014
Eric Himy's program of solo piano works by Yves Ramette includes compositions spanning 50 years and several musical styles. It opens with one of the earliest works, 4 Esquisses, and we can hear in each movement the threads of music to come. 'Dans Les Modes Anciens' is a tonic beauty with a gushing melody and descending sequences. 'Choral' is tightly wound harmonically, with an easy forward movement toward resolutions.

American Record Guide, September/October 2015
Cascading Into Reverie is yet another record of Yves Ramette's music on the Navona label. This time there is a CD of piano music and a CD of orchestral works. The orchestral music is mostly consonant and accessible, with clear and obvious melodies. If you like Ramette's music, this two-disc package will be a good addition to your record collection.
