Notes & Reviews:

This is a live concert recording of Didier Henry and Anne Le Bozec presenting French songs by the others of the Renaissance.

American Record Guide, September/October 2013
Didier Henry, eminent operatic baritone and teacher of vocal interpretation, is also artistic director of the Maguelone label, and his voice is just right for this program. He sings with a smooth legato and with a nice combination of lightness and heft. He effectively brings out the ironic barb in Enesco's 'Change the Subject, That's Enough about Love' and tenderly caresses Poulenc's 'The Tomb'. Bozec's accompaniment reflects well the accuracy of Fischer-Dieskau's comment about her: "An extraordinary talent. Her pianistic talents, her constantly intent musicality, and her ability to communicate with the singer were a great source of pleasure to me." If you'd like a good sampling of French songs of the mid-19th to the mid-20th Century, this is a fine choice. Concise notes by Bozec. Texts and translations.
