Notes & Reviews:

This third CD in Querstand's series featuring historical recordings by the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra contains recordings from 1931 - 1939, most published for the first time. The set includes nearly all surviving recordings of the famous Bach Cantata Cycle broadcast by MIRAG, sung by the St. Thomas Boys Choir and performed by the Gewandhaus Orchestra. This is a unique document of Bach performances from the 1930s, packaged in a hardcover book the size of a DVD, with texts in English and German!
