Notes & Reviews:

Some of the best classical trombonists in the world join the Columbus State University Trombone Ensemble on an impressive recording of new music including Frith's "A Beautiful Noise," premiered in 2009.

American Record Guide, January/February 2014
The album offers works for trombone soloists with large trombone ensemble. The soloists are world-class artists, and most of the pieces were composed with this recording in mind. A reworking of a piece for flute, clarinet, and piano, the work is full of Ewazen's signature rhythmic drive, contrapuntal intricacy, and beautiful harmonies. His music, with its angular and perpetual-motion lines, and its constant intonation challenges, sounds good by excellent performers. It sounds terrific here. Each of the soloists is fantastic.
