Gerhard Weinberger has occupied himself with the organ works of Genzmer for decades and worked on many of them with the composer. On this world premiere recording, Weinberger performs a substantial number of Genzmer's works, many of which he presented the world premiere performances of.

In general, both the repertoire and performance are interesting. A refreshing exception is the concluding section of the Sinfonisches Konzert, where an effective crescendo leads to a dramatic finale. Articulation could be stronger in toccata sections; adagio sections could have more shape. Interesting.
