Notes & Reviews:

Durán-Loriga is first and foremost a composer, one who has been commissioned by prestigious official Spanish and foreign bodies, premièred at major national and international contemporary music fora, and performed by soloists, ensembles and orchestras of the highest standing.

American Record Guide, March/April 2014
Jacobo Duran-Loriga is a Spanish composer born in 1958. He studied with Luis de Pablo and absorbed a penchant for what might be loosely described as "avant-garde lyricism": music that exploits all the highly sophisticated technical means available to contemporary musicians to generate fresh and appealing sound combinations that are both interesting in themselves. The works on this superbly-played and vividly recorded release date from 1983 to 2008 and are written for various mixed ensembles that shade over from chamber groups to smallish chamber orchestra.
