Notes & Reviews:

Following up on his disc of music from the time of Louis XV on the Taskin harpsichord, John Kitchen now turns to an earlier period, with the works of Louis Marchand, Louis and François Couperin, Jean-Henri d’Anglebert and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre on the 1755 Luigi Baillon harpsichord from the Rodger Mirrey Collection. Kitchen studied seventeenth century French harpsichord music at Clare College, Cambridge, and is the conductor of Edinburgh University Singers and director of music at Old Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Edinburgh.

American Record Guide, January/February 2014
The harpsichord is remarkably responsive to Kitchen's expert ornamentation, and his command of the style is always evident. It's rare to hear an old instrument that's as well maintained as this one and played by a harpsichordist with the sense of style that Kitchen has, so this is well worth owning too.
