Notes & Reviews:

In May of last year, 25-year-old French-Korean pianist HJ Lim burst onto the international scene with her debut album of no less than the complete Beethoven piano sonatas. The album entered the Billboard Overall Classical Charts at #1, beating out Yo-Yo Ma, Andrea Bocelli, Jeremy Denk and many other far more established stars, and cemented HJ's place amongst the leading lights of her generation of piano players.

For her second album, HJ follows her bold debut with an equally audacious collection of music by Maurice Ravel and Alexander Scriabin. Lim showcases her thoughtful programming with a series of waltzes and sonatas, juxtaposing the dark and mystical sound worlds of Ravel's La Valse and Scriabin's Piano Sonata No. 5 with lighter pieces like the Ravel Sonatine. Throughout, the music ripples with the energy and vitality that Lim has become known for around the world.

HJ will support the album release with concerts in New York City and Philadelphia, along with a series of new performance videos (she is one of the most popular pianists on YouTube, with well over a million views).
