Notes & Reviews:

Swiss Composer Schlumpf is widely active in the borderlands between improvisation and composition. With Streams Schlumpf presents three concertos that are representative of a creative period in his career marked by the influence of minimalism and jazz, new tonal concepts, a strong emphasis on rhythm, and clear-cut formal designs.

American Record Guide, November/December 2013
Martin Schlumpf was born in 1947 in Switzerland, where he still lives. He says that his object is to keep his music understandable by way of clear-cut designs influenced by jazz, minimalism, and other straightforward elements. He handles this with some subtlety and lots of imaginative instrumental color. The recording is rich and clear and the playing full of personality, particularly in Streams. I much enjoyed this production and I suspect you will, too.
