Notes & Reviews:

All the works presented here belong to the same creative period as those solo pieces on Marco's first Dynamic CD (CDS708) containing some of his most important 1990s pieces for solo guitar. On this world premiere recording Marcello Fantoni plays the little-known and seldom performed works.

American Record Guide, March/April 2014
Marco's music is, at this point, mostly tonal. It is effective music, and it's always good to expand the chamber music repertory. La Nuit de Bordeaux is for string quartet and guitar. It's highly percussive, an unusual approach for this combination, angular and exciting. 'Imprecacion de Tindaya' consists of short bursts of sound from the flute, surrounded by the guitar. Tapices y Disparates, for violin and guitar, is based on Goya, particularly his Caprichos and their depictions of mankind's follies. Verder Viento is for three guitars, a set of ten short pieces inspired by Garcia Lorca. The movements are all guitaristic. The strongest piece here is Partita de Espejos for guitar solo. The five interrelated movements form a strong unity, with more harmonic richness. Fantoni and his colleagues play with considerable skill and effect. People interested in chamber music for guitar will find some fresh discoveries here.
