Notes & Reviews:

Both of these concert recordings pre-date Haitink's studio recordings for EMI. The live environment adds a musical insight and spontaneity which is lacking in the studio counterparts.

American Record Guide, March/April 2014
It is true that Haitink recorded the symphonies for EMI with this same orchestra. I think 7 was about as good as it is here. The recordings were made in Royal Festival Hall. The sound is wonderful. Suggested retail for both discs is $18, so don't worry about the two discs.

Notes & Reviews:

Recording information: Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, London (11/27/1984/12/15/1994).
