Notes & Reviews:
Vladimir Jurowski conducts Tristan and Isolde for the first time in this 2009 recording by the Glyndebourne. His understanding of this score unearths scrupulous attention to detail and as the Financial Times observed 'unlocked the door to the world of seething emotions within Wagner's music.'
American Record Guide, March/April 2014
A beautifully-recorded, lovingly-presented performance. The Act II duet is what you'd expect from these singers: beautifully expressed and verbally sensitive. Conally, Dobber, and Zeppenfeld are all adequate. Jurowski gets lovely playing from the LPO and builds the preludes and orchestral interludes well, with a warm, romantic sound and very astute pacing.
