Notes & Reviews:

Written for the Dover Quartet with chamber orchestra, Howard Shore's score for Arnaud Desplechin's Jimmy P. balances the film's themes of memory and introspection. The film is an adaptation of George Devereux's book "Reality and Dream: Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian". Starring Benicio Del Toro and Mathieu Amalric, it follows a Native American soldier, Jimmy Picard (Del Toro), who suffers psychologically in the aftermath of World War II. Working together, Devereux (Amalric) and Jimmy P. form a bond of friendship amidst their professional therapeutic relationship.

American Record Guide, January/February 2014
Jimmy P is the story of an American Indian soldier who, in the aftermath of World War II, forms a bond with his therapist. Shore's music is suitably moody and introspective. Howe is the composer's own label, and I would have expected some notes about the music beyond a list of performers and technicians involved.
