Notes & Reviews:

One of the greatest opera singers of the 20th century, Montserrat Caballé had an unsurpassed repertory in her day for its breadth and range. Throughout her career, she sang more operas by Verdi than any other composer. Caballé brought to her Verdi singing a formidable array of musical and vocal skills that made her one of the supreme exponents of his music. Her love for the maestro is immortalized in this new album, Montserrat Caballé Sings Verdi. Featured on this release are performances from Caballé's early career from Otello and Un Ballo in Maschera. Also featured are a wide range of Verdi rarities including a 1979 live performance from Aroldo.
